ATLAS BARRIERS AT HOSPITAL HELIPAD

Rising arm barriers from the Atlas Group's Agies range are in use at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. The hospital, formerly and still known outside of the local TV news as Treliske Hospital, is a teaching hospital on the outskirts of Truro.
The barriers are used to control parking on the site in order to ensure the helipad is always clear for the helicopter to land and is also immediately accessible by ambulance from the A & E department.
The helicopter service was inaugurated in 1987 and was the UK's first dedicated helicopter emergency medical service. It has been called out to over 20,000 emergencies.
